U.S. Hits Civilians in Afghanistan

At least 90 civilians (people who are not soldiers), including as many as 50 kids, were killed in a U.S. military airstrike in Afghanistan at the end of August, according to the Afghan government. The United Nations estimates that nearly 700 Afghan civilians have been killed in fighting this year. Nearly 50,000 U.S. troops are in Afghanistan as part of the “war on terror.”
