Nine years after invading and occupying Iraq, U.S. military forces officially left the country in December. More than 4,400 U.S. troops died in the war and 650,000 to more than one million Iraqis died. The United States still has its largest embassy in the world in Iraq, with a $6 billion budget for 2012 and a staff of 16,000 people.
