The U.S. Senate just passed the “Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.” If signed into law, this bill means that an additional $4.5 billion over the next ten years will go to federal nutrition programs for children, such as the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. It will also be the first time in 30 years that funding to this program has been increased.
