U.S. Media Silent on Latest Snowden Interview

In a German TV interview in early February 2014, Edward Snowden explained how domestic spying programs in the United States weaken human rights and democracy. While the interview was treated as breaking news throughout the world, it was not reported on by the U.S. mainstream media. The interview was a follow-up to his initial interview with Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras in June 2013, revealing the National Security Administration’s massive spying programs.
