Have you ever checked the national debt? Well, the United States owes a lot, for sure. The national debt is $37 trillion! Now we have a “solution,” but it isn’t really one: the so-called Big Beautiful Bill. This bill was proposed by President Trump and approved by Congress. The bill, in short, cuts a lot of needed benefits to give privileges to rich people. It cuts funding from Medicaid, food stamps, student loan plans, and clean energy rules. And it will add $3.7 trillion to the national debt.

According to CNBC, 20% of food stamps, also known as SNAP, are getting cut, too, since President Trump’s bill cuts $187 billion from the program. As for Medicaid or health insurance, about 12 million people living in the United States will lose it. This won’t go into effect until after the midterm elections in 2026.

Instead, the military will get more funding. The bill will impact immigration, because it is spending a lot of money on building the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border and on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It will also provide more weapons for the military, according to Vox.

In addition, it will repeal many of Biden’s clean energy benefits and singles out clean energy, particularly solar and wind, for rough treatment.

Wealthy people will probably gain the most because of inheritance taxes being cut. For waiters and waitresses, taxes on tips are being cut, which could give them a bit more money.

Medicaid, food stamps, and more are very important to many families who have less money, and losing these benefits will affect them greatly.
