A ban on plastic bottles in the Grand Canyon, which has a big litter problem, was set to take action on January 1, 2012, until the National Park Service Director called it off after a meeting with Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola gives a lot of money to the National Parks Foundation. Now the ban may go through since the public complained and wrote a petition in favor of the ban.
