At most public high school job fairs in the United States, students will run into military recruiters. In 2001, the No Child Left Behind Act passed, containing a small section requiring public schools to give over all student contact information to the military and allow recruiters to visit school campuses.

Secrets of Congo

Secrets of Congo is a comic book written and illustrated by Ms. Soumah’s fifth-grade class in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. The fifth-graders used this comic to talk about important issues in their country, like wars and fighting over natural resources, child soldiers, and racism. Click here to download Secrets of Congo.
