Surviving School: Study Tips

By Indykids Staff

Learning is a lot of work! But there are ways to make the job easier so that you can remember things and not spend too much time studying.

•    REPEAT: You hear a song and want to learn the words. What do you do? You listen to the song over and over again, singing along each time you hear it. Soon you can sing it all by yourself. You can do the same thing when you study by saying or writing down the things you need to learn over and over.

•    A LITTLE AT A TIME: If you have a test, it helps to start studying for it the week before! Take your notes and go over them about twenty minutes each night. Repeat the information over and over again just like the words to a song. Do a little at a time rather than a lot the night before the test. When you learn this way you will remember what you learned for a long time.

•    A SILLY SENTENCE: Did you know that “My Very Exceptional Mom Just Served Us Nine Pizzas?” It’s a silly sentence but it can help you remember the names of the planets as they go out from the sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. See if you can come up with your own silly sentence to help you remember a list of names.

  1. One important thing is that when you are searching for a education loan you may find that you’ll need a co-signer. There are many conditions where this is true because you will find that you do not employ a past credit rating so the lender will require you have someone cosign the financial loan for you. Great post.
