When people in New York City held a protest on Wall Street in September, they decided to stay there. The protesters wanted to let people know that they don’t like the fact that just one percent of people in the country have so much wealth and power over the lives of everybody else. Since then, people across the country have started their own protest actions to support “Occupy Wall Street.” Here are some voices and faces from the protests.

Aviyah - 5: (Andrew, her dad of Parents of OWS): "We've talked about equality and fairness. In places we live and go to school, not everyone has the same opportunities. All kids, all our friends, should have the same opportunities. People say that's not fair. Why shouldn't it be? Lets make it fair"

  • " I have been bringing my son out here so that he can see history happening and be a part of it. There are a lot of dissatisfied people and they are getting out of the box and being peaceful and making a statement. The disenfranchised minority is getting together and re-forming a community, in the middle of businesses. Not sure what will come of it. I’ve seen all kinds, students, professors, people from all over coming together to make an impact and change. We must fight for our rights."
