McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s are some of the popular fast food chains are contributing to the rise of obesity. Though this issue has afflicted many parts of the world, in the U.S., it has become a cause for concern. Some senators have proposed a bill targeting children and teenagers that would promote healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle. According to a recent study published by the Women’s Sports Foundation, the U.S. has the highest numbers of obese children and adolescents than most of the world. In another study, girls ages 6-10, those who were more physically fit were less likely to be overweight and more likely to be fit. Studies also show that the more physically active you are, the less likely you are to be overweight.
