Anthropologists around the world are using new technology to take a deeper look at mummies than ever before. Endoscopes (miniature cameras) enter through cracks to explore the bodies. CAT scans use X-rays to create 3-D images, revealing what’s inside. Things like sex, disease and what they ate last can be discovered. Finally, we can get a clearer idea of the past.
Mummy: A body which upon burial is preserved by people or nature.
