Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Harry Grows Up

By Indykids Staff

Finally! After months of waiting, at 12a.m. on July 16th, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was out!

The world has changed since we last saw Harry. You-Know-Who is back in force, gathering allies among the wizarding world, creating grand alliances with dementors and werewolves. And the Ministry of Magic isn’t sure how to respond. Far from gathering its own forces and demonstrating leadership, the Ministry is trying to manage the situation as a public relations job. Attacks and mysterious accidents are on the rise. Even Muggles (humans like you and me) feel the effects.

But Harry is growing up, learning that he must now take responsibility for his own future. He knows now that grownups make mistakes, that even people as rotten as Malfoy deserve pity, that he can actually do well at Potions and that girls aren’t entirely icky.

But growing up doesn’t just mean more work and less Quidditch. There is still fun to be had at Hogwarts, and part of growing up means being able to Apparate and help Dumbledore with a very important task, probably the most important task of Harry’s life.

You ask who is the Half-Blood Prince? You’ll just have to read the book to find out.
