With it’s unique appearance, the duck-billed platypus is a sight to behold! However, there are other reasons why it stands out in the animal kingdom. The platypus is a monotreme, or an egg-laying mammal. Today, only two species of monotreme remain: the platypus and the spiny anteater.
Platypuses are only found in Australia.
Even though platypuses live mainly in the water, they breathe air.
Female platypuses can dig up to 60 feet in the ground to make their breeding nests.
There are three ways to say the plural of platypus: platypuses, platypoda and platypus are all recognized.

Very interesting points you have remarked, thanks for posting . “The judge is condemned when the criminal is absolved.” by Publilius Syrus.
Very weird but interesting.
