Exposed to Poison

An investigation has found that several hundred students in California and seven other states have been exposed to pesticides (chemicals that destroy pests) in the past decade. Students in schools near farm areas that spray  pesticides to protect crops have been suffering from serious illnesses linked to these poisons. There are no federal laws against spraying pesticides near schools, and states that have made pesticide laws may not enforce them enough to protect the students.
