In January, Chinese and British scientists reported in Nature the first evidence of dinosaur color. They discovered microscopic pigment structures similar to those in birds’ feathers, and found that one dinosaur had orange-brown tail feathers. Paleontologist Laurence M. Witmer of Ohio University says, “We might be able to start painting a picture in color of what these things looked like.”
